JAN 19: "TELL CNN TO STOP HYPING FEARS OF VIOLENCE"

CNN played into the idea that there was an overwhelming security concern and like alot of media outlets focused on the collapsed prison and the fact that all inmates escaped. This supported UN and US claims that they needed troops and support to secure areas before they could act. Against this backdrop Anderson Cooper and his team finally came to the conclusion that concerns were over-stated and that they were holding up necessary aid. CNN's Sanjay Gupta in fact found himself responsible for the care of a tent full of patients after the UN supposedly made doctors leave them for the night due to security concerns. Click here for an article regarding CNN's "violence angle" by indy journalist Ansel Herz who filed this from Port-Au-Prince,Tell CNN to stop hyping fears of violence in Haiti. For shame.
